Reorganize and repair a large family home.
God Moved A Mountain. For just over a week at the beginning of August, Brighten A Corner Ministry gathered together an amazing group of volunteers to completely transform the home of a family who endured the loss of a precious 9 year old little boy. This past April Kailanii Brannum was swept away to sea while jumping on the rocks at Paradise Beach. It was unthinkable.
In response the community and the body of Christ came together to accomplish what seemed impossible. In way too little time, with nowhere near enough money, we put “loaves and fishes faith” into action. In eight days we:
With quite a bit of new furniture to go with it, the house became a beautiful home. Contractors took the week off of work to make miracles happen. Landscapers worked in the evening and on the weekend to graciously meet the deadline. The tile work was completed by a number of fabulous tile companies who made each room beautiful and functional. Flooring installers spent hour after hour working, long before it was time to install the floor. The electrical work often felt endless. There was plumbing and more plumbing. There were interior walls and baseboards, exterior walls and fascia to be painted and endless piles of things that needed to be cleaned and organized before they came back into the house. Volunteer after volunteer showed up to do whatever was needed, whenever it needed to be done. It was truly amazing to see people working together for one common goal, with joy and a willingness to do what it took to get the job done in a mere 8 days!
