Psalm 51:10-12: Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation
and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

November 4-8 we served a local family in Arroyo Grande. The project included de-cluttering and organizing a home full of busy, creative teenagers and one tired single mom. Our goal was to create a home that reflects the very best in the family. Simplifying, painting, installing new flooring and using every square inch in the small home as we created space for each family member to grow in their relationships with each other and the Lord.

BAC Update and Future Plans….

The biggest obstacle Brighten A Corner faces is budget constraints! We finished the last project in debt, and have committed to never do that again. We simply can not do what we don’t have funding for. We are turning over every stone, examining every idea so that we can get to a place that is more certain financially for the ministry. We estimate that will reduce at least 50% of the leadership team’s stress. Funding and stress reduction equals more projects, more people helped, more volunteers changed and strengthened by the experience.

Our strategy includes:

  • Establishing a foundation of people who give monthly. $10, $25, $50 or $100 each month by many will help enormously.
  • Committing to not beginning the planning of a project unless it is already partially funded, according to our initial estimates. Those who donate to individual projects help us to prioritize our work.
  • Partnering with local churches for financial support. Shepherd’s Table, Grover Beach Presbyterian, and the Lifestylers Sunday school class at Grace Bible Church have all committed to supporting us regularly.
  • Looking into several different fund raising ideas. We need a team of volunteers to help us in this effort!
  • Seeking grants and corporate sponsorships to take the ministry to the next level.

God’s provision for us to the point has been amazing, and we are so excited to see what HE has planned for us. We are committed to excellence in stewardship as we move forward! Can you help us raise the $5000 needed to finish this project, or partner with us to achieve our goals?

I signed my daughter Shonna & myself up to help on Thursday, Nov 4th from 1-5. I haven’t heard anything from you that you received my sign up or anything about the project. My daughter will be coming from San Francisco to help and we could be available for other afternoon times also but would like to make sure we are needed. We have never done anything like this before but this has really drawn me to actually do something. Thanks for letting me know in advance that we are indeed wanted/needed.

    Thanks,
    Kathy

I heard from a reliable source you all have a project in the works. Need any help? You can count on me to be there, Lord willing.

    Sorry Robin,

My husband and I will be out of town that week on a long over due get-away. My sister-in-law is “grandma sitting” my mother-in-law with dementia…(she lives w/us), so we can re-connect and take a break! Hopefully I can help with your next project.

God Bless you and your good work!

    Blessings, Linda Dirksen
