Below are the current Brighten a Corner Team Leaders:
Robin Lee, Founder
I founded BAC nearly seven years ago because sometimes people–good, hard working people–find themselves in circumstances that are overwhelming. Many times people don’t know how to help, because the situation requires more than one person can do. However, a team of people committed to serving the Lord can sometimes come in and “Brighten A Corner” of someone’s life, even if they can’t fix the foundational problem. We can’t cure cancer or eliminate sexual abuse that has already happened, but we can say, “God loves you. We are here to show you just a tiny part of His love.”
Martin Van Maanen
Hebrews 6:10-12 from The Message….God doesn’t miss anything. He knows perfectly well all the love you’ve shown Him by helping the needy, and that you keep at it”… This is why I love this ministry; because it is a tool that allows me to share my love for Christ and desire to actually make a real difference for His glory in my local community. It is simply an extension of who I want to be and how I want to be known.
Randy Russom
Randy is a talented local Architect in Arroyo Grande. He has been serving with Brighten a Corner for over a year and loves it!
John Spence
Although I have never doubted my salvation and faithfully did the “Sunday” thing, I had always been aware of a distinct void in my life; some unfulfilled ache, a deep seated disappointment that nagged. Brighten a Corner provides an opportunity right here in our own backyard to make a difference. The graciousness of our Lord in moving the heavens to accomplish every new challenge we face only serves to deepen my faith in Him.
Stephanie Tippitt
I’ve been with BAC now for 6 years and have had the privilege to see God do some pretty amazing, if not miraculous, things. Serving with BAC keeps me grounded and keeps my faith alive. When I hear a story of someone in trouble, I want to do something– something tangible. BAC opens the door for me to help people in ways I would not be able to do on my own.
